Requirements
  • Must have at least five (5) years of professional experience in managing large Information Technology projects
  • Must have a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Natural gas transmission and distribution / utility experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a project manager with a strong track record of successful implementations, including managing scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills for audiences ranging from end users to C-Level management
  • Experience managing large, complex IT projects (e.g., implementing Customer Information System-based solutions)
  • Proven success delivering work management, asset management, and inventory management solutions as a project manager
  • Proven success implementing complex integrated solutions as a project manager
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and commitments as a project manager
  • Experience using project management and delivery methodologies such as RUP, Waterfall, Agile, and Six Sigma to ensure project satisfaction
  • Experience implementing business transformation projects involving significant process redesign and people impacts
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Group facilitation experience
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions and recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Proven leadership skills and history of leadership roles
  • Experience integrating transformational change management activities into project plans and schedules

Responsibilities
  • Manage the budget, schedule, and scope of the project(s)
  • Manage the delivery of the project(s), taking accountability for overall progress (schedule) and the use of resources (budget)
  • Proactively escalate decisions, risks, and issues to appropriate governance bodies for resolution
  • Establish and maintain the project’s risk register, issue log, and change controls
  • Initiate corrective actions to mitigate project issues
  • Manage project documentation including project plans and meeting minutes
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and deliverables
  • Ensure timely project wrap-up, team release, lessons learned, and project disposition
  • Collaborate as a project team member with peers to support continuous improvement within the project management practice at SaskEnergy
