The Director, Therapy Development - Southeast Region (With preference to: FL/GA) will plan, direct, and lead therapy development outreach activities and assist with training for ReCor Medical’s Paradise Ultrasound Renal Denervation system to ensure patients with uncontrolled hypertension in need of treatment become aware of this new ground-breaking option. The Director, Therapy Development develops and implements a strategy for sustainable business relationships and therapy growth to include achieving revenue targets and profitability while achieving safe growth for the treatment of uncontrolled hypertension through uRDN.
In addition, the Director of Therapy Development will be responsible for the overall hiring and on boarding of Therapy Development Territory Managers, mentoring team development, implementing retention strategies, and collaborating with the local ReCor Medical sales and leadership teams to achieve company objectives. The Director of Therapy Development will work as a team with the VP of TD to execute on the commercial targets & plans.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Lead the team of Therapy Development Territory Managers (TDTM) that will launch Paradise (Ultrasound Renal Denervation System), the first ever renal denervation product into the market.
- Recognize, Hire, train, develop, coach and retain high caliber Therapy Development Territory Managers who are committed to excellence in performance, people management, customer care and partner relationship building in support of achieving business objectives
- Work closely with senior management to set the culture and strategic direction
- Ensure the TD field team is properly credentialed at all hospitals for vendor credentialing and has access/good standing to hospitals
- Develop and maintain a high performing organization
- Oversee district structure/organizational planning; identify qualified accounts and proper order of rollout with territory alignment and compensation considerations
- Manage individual territory customer interface while on boarding talent
- Oversee all performance management responsibilities; feedback/coaching, development planning, employee training, objective setting, performance reviews, etc. in support of the therapy development staff
- Manage and achieve annual operating planning/quota, budgeting and forecasting for the therapy development team within the district
- Partner with colleagues in Medical and Scientific Affairs and Marketing on key deliverables, health economic models, and working with the markets to plan and implement studies based on local business plans
- Expertise with subject matters involving healthcare economics, upstream and downstream product portfolio, clinical data and the competitive marketplace
- Be able to identify and differentiate root cause of patient access restrictions between outreach and patient pathway
- Establish an understanding of referral dynamics and how patient access may be restricted or delayed
- Ensure the field reports all product and procedure complaints to the appropriate departments according to ReCor Medical policy
- Ensure TD team/staff is trained and abides by ReCor Medical’s mission and ethics policies, and business conduct standards
- Document formal field travel within district with proper follow-up and quarterly TDTM reports
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Sales and Therapy Development teams through field visits, observation, and measurement of results. Performance responsibility includes safe growth with outcome accountability
- Establish plan quotas for each territory in region; ensure that strategies are in place to meet and exceed plan
- Ensure all sales and marketing programs are communicated and implemented and coordinated
- Drive teamwork between ReCor’s Sales & Therapy Development organization and other internal constituencies to improve communication and sharing of information and resources
- Monitor and control expenses to include proper allocation of customer inventory
- Develop, maintain and provide solutions for customer business needs
- Effectively build a positive working relationship between ReCor Medical and key accounts
- Attend/develop curriculum for quarterly district TD & Sales meetings and attend key society conventions as requested
- Communicate developments in best practice techniques and technologies, impact of education programs, competitive activities, and customer response back to the business (GM, VP’s)
- Cultivate and maintain excellent internal professional relationships with education, marketing, clinical, regulatory, quality, supply and R&D teams
Requirements
- In order to be considered for this position, the following basic qualifications must be evident on your resume.
- ·Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent four (4) year clinical degree in Life Sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience (MBA is a plus)
- 10+ years of medical sales & leadership experience
- DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference for sales in Surgical, Cardiac OR/or Cath Lab or EP Interventional cardiology experience with leadership/management experience in the field of Endovascular, Interventional Cardiology or Cardiac Surgery or EP Interventional Cardiology
- Hypertension pharmaceutical sales/industry experience
- ·Master’s Degree
- ·Well-rounded business and financial acumen
- Prior product launch experience
- C-suite selling experience
- ·Prior market development experience
- Proven successful sales track record
- Prior KOL management experience
- Prior experience building and maintaining successful therapy development/sales teams
- Prior sales training or clinical education training
- Ability to build strong relationships with key therapy users and internal employees across various functions and at all levels

- The successful candidate will have prior experience in introducing new technologies and therapies
