The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a per-diem breast pathologist.BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and an internationally renowned principal teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center-affiliated Cancer Center.
In addition, the Pathology department is proud and excited to be an integral part of the landmark collaboration among Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will provide unparalleled opportunities for pathology and other physician specialties to be part of DFCI’s internationally recognized cancer team.
We seek an energetic, team-oriented breast pathologist who will contribute to the Department’s diagnostic excellence, academic mission, and continued innovation. The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong diagnostic skills in breast oncologic surgical pathology
A collaborative spirit and interest in working closely with molecular pathologists and oncologists to support precision oncology, machine learningand clinical trials
An interest in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students
An academic trajectory of scholarly interests in breast disease, translational research, or quality improvement
In addition to strong diagnostic skills in surgical pathology, expertise in molecular diagnostics or digital pathology is desirable. Strong interest in further developing the crucial role of Pathology in clinical trials is a plus, including new companion diagnostics.

Applicants must be board certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP) and hold a valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one.

The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
