Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / Commerce / Finance / Business Administration
  • 6-8 years of experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry and/or Fund accounting & administration
  • Strong understanding of the theoretical and technical nature of accounting principles and theories including fund accounting, Tax lot accounting, and Net Asset Values
  • Extensive understanding of the product lifecycle (Equity, Fixed Income, and other similar financial products) including pricing, valuation, corporate action processing, wash sale and NAV change
  • Familiarity with FIS Investment Accounting Manager (formerly InvestOne) or any other portfolio accounting systems
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving, and able to recommend long-term solutions
  • Excellence in risk management and meticulous attention to detail with a sense of urgency / deliver tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and adopt in a fast-paced environment to deliver results
  • Excellent communication (both written & spoken)
  • Demonstrate ability to partner across product groups, regions and functional responsibilities
  • Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
  • Strategic thinker, possesses strong facilitation and data gathering skills

Responsibilities
  • Coverage and oversight of custodian, brokers and fund administrators to maximize potential value delivery across the firm
  • Creating and driving strategic projects to improve efficiency, scalability while maintaining and managing risk
  • Assist with evaluation, selection, negotiation and onboarding of new vendors / ongoing compliance with Firm vendor policies
  • Evaluate new business/products/markets and collaborate across teams to represent and drive work streams
  • Comply with internal risk frameworks and industry regulations to reduce risk and extract maximum value from our global network, connecting with stakeholders to lobby for internal or market change
  • Support Portfolio Managers, Fund Boards, and Controllers by providing accurate and timely fund account information and overseeing all aspects of support of each pooled vehicle
  • Supporting Institutional clients, Client relationship managers and Billing oversight teams providing accurate and timely account information and overseeing all aspects of support of each client relationship
  • Provide superior client service and front to back oversight for GSAM’s pooled vehicle complex
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively drive multiple initiatives
  • Detail oriented with the ability to quickly identify and learn pertinent information across wide range of products
  • Coordinate and manage tasks across a multi-disciplined team to ensure all operational information relating to an account event is received and systems are set up prior to account trading activity
  • Providing effective thought leadership in navigating evolving financial regulatory landscape and helping to develop technological solutions to build appropriate architecture
  • Engage in opportunities to review processes, analyze information, make decisions, recommendations and implement as well as monitor procedures
  • Understand and improve problem solving capabilities for complex trade flows, accounting issues, and transactional discrepancies
  • Provide reporting to senior leadership and produce insightful analysis of the business upon request for management.
