Requirements
  • Two- or four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
  • Available to work all days and shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays)
  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
  • Experience with installing and maintaining many types of software and hardware
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks and teams
  • Extensive experience in automated conveyor systems and controls; work order management; preventive/predictive maintenance procedures; blueprint and schematic reading; Industrial Electrical; HMI interfaces and programming; Industrial Controls; Industrial Electronics; Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs; Server based controls; National Electrical Code (NEC)
Responsibilities
  • Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance through preventive and predictive maintenance processes; rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service in support of successful operation of the supply chain facility
  • Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives; work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize material handling equipment performance and flow
  • Serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events, ensuring proper processes and training procedures are implemented as part of root cause analysis
  • Proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment; serve as expert who understands material flow optimization, system controls logic, and facilitates and trains effective troubleshooting techniques
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the buildings systems, maintaining expertise around all electrical, mechanical and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment on site, including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems
  • Use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to the building automation
  • Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills and abilities, and train and coach internal technicians
  • Support training plan development and progress follow up
  • Maintain knowledge and facilitate site training on safety procedures and PPE, ensure safe work environment by eliminating hazardous conditions; include Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash
  • You should be a self-starter, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, train, and coach across various resources and scenarios
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure
