Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED and two years of oil field experience, or one year as an ELS Pump Shop Service Technician I or related oil field experience.
  • Complete all work safely and follow safety requirements consistent with the company’s TRIR goals.
  • Follow environmental requirements consistent with the company’s environmental performance goals.
  • Complete and actively participate in all company safety training requirements.
  • Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company insurance policy.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Sit and/or drive a vehicle for a minimum of two hours and often up to four hours.
  • Maneuver to all areas of a pump shop or warehouse and allowable areas of a well site or other job site.
  • Lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely mount and dismount from the back of a truck, and bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working.
  • Use manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and mechanical tools such as a wrench.
  • Work at a fast pace and complete assignments despite changing priorities and frequent interruptions.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Drive a one-ton pickup truck.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Responsibilities
  • Perform the duties of a Fiberglass Technician and service and repair customer pumps and related equipment.
  • Inspect and install fiberglass rods at customer locations.
  • Tear down pumps, identify worn or damaged parts, and reassemble pumps with little supervision.
  • Disassemble, repair, and assemble pumps and transact other products specific to the pump shop.
  • Handle sucker rods and apply general oil field supply products and safety systems equipment.
  • Deliver and pick up customer pumps that have been or are in need of repair.
  • Assist with loading and unloading pump, safety, and rod product freight.
  • Obtain signed approval of delivery tickets from customer personnel in a timely manner.
  • Review and complete paperwork required for pump, sucker rod, supply, and safety equipment sales.
  • Complete the Pump Service Record for all new or repaired pumps serviced in the district.
  • Discuss customer pump equipment repairs with the Pump Shop Manager or Supervisor.
  • Prepare equipment price quotations and quote prices to customers.
  • Present well reports to customers and attend customer failure analysis meetings when required.
  • Install ELS products used for well completion, including steel rods, fiberglass rods, sinker bars, pumps, and shear tools.
  • Execute general installations, rod delivery, rod inspection, and well-spacing verification according to standard procedures.
  • Load and deliver steel rods, fiberglass rods, sinker bars, and shear tools using paper maps and other navigation tools.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and keep the shop clean, orderly, and properly maintained.
  • Take customer telephone calls for service work and equipment sales and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain accuracy of inbound and outbound freight shipments.
  • Assist the Shop Manager or Supervisor in maintaining shop inventory accuracy.
  • Recommend inventory levels required to operate the district.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure compliance with company goals.
  • Maintain the company-assigned vehicle according to company policy.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management personnel.
