Requirements
  • AED/CPR certification is required.
  • Current lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross, United States Lifesaving Association, or American Lifeguard Association is required.
  • Ability to work based on the operational needs of the hospital is required.
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying are required.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to pool chemicals is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to relay information and deal tactfully and harmoniously with others is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide members and guests with a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment.
  • Greet members and guests when they enter the aquatics area.
  • Monitor guest activity within aquatic environments to maintain a safe aquatic environment.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and safe pool environment, including monitoring and balancing water chemistry, monitoring and maintaining pool temperature, and maintaining pool cleanliness.
  • Assist with cleaning and preventive maintenance of the aquatic environment, including filter room equipment, heaters, and pool surfaces, according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide aquatic services, including teaching swimming lessons, supervising group swim activities, and assisting with other aquatic program activities.
  • Perform other facility-related duties as needed to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
