Polar Analytics is building the data platform for eCommerce. We are looking for a skilled Node Backend Engineer to join our team.
At the Platform Engineering squad you’ll be building and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers our data platform. We focus on high-performance, reliabliability, and scalable solutions for ingesting and processing third-party data. Our engineers have the autonomy to drive impact from day one, making crucial decisions that shape our data ingestion capabilities.

What’s the scope?
Build, maintain, optimize, and scale a core service that ingests data from 50+ third-party APIs.
Use third-party APIs to add new connector capabilities to the platform.
Collaborate with the engineering teams to lay the foundation for a reliable and scalable data platform, supporting the growth of the company’s data infrastructure.
Explore and implement innovative solutions to reduce the overhead caused by frequent API changes.
The job is made for you if...
You have over 2 years of software engineering experience in backend development Node, Typescript and Cloud experience (Preferably AWS)
You’re a skilled problem solver, you design efficient solutions while thinking about possible bottlenecks and tradeoffs.
You understand the importance of following software engineering good practices and building a reliable and maintainable code base.
You own your work end to end. You plan, build, run, deploy, monitor and optimize.
You are curious and keen to come up with solutions to reduce technical overhead.

Our Hiring Process 📝
We follow a structured hiring process to ensure fairness and transparency. Our process may vary depending on the role, but this is what you can expect after you apply:
1. Recruiter Screen (30 mins): A call with our Head of Talent to talk through your current/past experience, your motivations and Tell you more about Polar Analytics.
2. Role Fit Interview (45 mins): Here, you’ll meet either the Hiring Manager or a team member of a similar level to discuss your ways of working and understand your skillset and ability for the role.
3. Competency Deep Dive (1 hour): This interview usually consists of a practical element (case study, Presentation, Technical Problem Solving etc) designed to give you a broader understanding of how we drive impact at Polar. This will be with the hiring manager and one other team member.
4. Culture Interview (45 mins): A conversation with one of our Culture Champions. We assess your team fit based on our values (see below).
