Requirements
  • National Board In-service commission
  • State/provincial jurisdictional certificate of competency for the jurisdictions in which they will be providing Jurisdictional services
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, evaluate and consult regarding pressure equipment for jurisdictional and risk servicing purposes
  • Assess complex piping, sophisticated controls, and fluid dynamics
  • Demonstrate understanding of uncommon applications (e.g., high temperature water and organic fluid/vapor boilers)
  • Handle a broad range of boiler and pressure vessel situations
  • Consult on regulatory or jurisdictional requirements
  • Integrate requirements in evaluating pressure equipment
  • Work closely with clients to eliminate or mitigate hazards
  • Conduct incident investigations of pressure equipment at the discretion of the Operations Chief Inspector
