Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Zero to five years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership through competitive athletics, coaching, military service, student organizations, internships, entrepreneurship, or team-based competitions.
  • Evidence of taking ownership and delivering results beyond assigned responsibilities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in seeing how systems perform under real field conditions.
  • Strong analytical ability combined with a willingness to make decisions and act.
  • Ability to earn credibility with experienced installers, electricians, and technicians.
  • Willingness to work at job sites and adapt to changing field conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Own daily field performance across safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer experience.
  • Own crew productivity, labor utilization, installation capacity, and project throughput.
  • Own Houston field scheduling, workforce planning, and job-site sequencing.
  • Own standard operating procedures that support consistent execution as volume grows.
  • Own performance reporting, operational dashboards, and corrective-action plans.
  • Own accountability, coaching, and development of Houston field personnel.
  • Identify and develop future crew leads and field leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across labor, materials, scheduling, and installation workflows.
  • Lead daily installation and construction activities throughout the Houston market.
  • Spend the majority of the time close to the operation, including regular job-site visits and field inspections.
  • Set clear expectations and hold field teams accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, delays, rework, and wasted labor.
  • Improve crew assignments, route planning, material flow, scheduling, and job-site sequencing.
  • Build practical dashboards that track labor utilization, cycle time, throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Redesign inefficient processes and test improvements directly in the field.
  • Establish standardized procedures that improve consistency without slowing execution.
  • Investigate recurring operational problems and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Anticipate problems and take action before they affect customers or project timelines.
  • Coach installers, electricians, technicians, and emerging field leaders.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, warehouse, customer service, and senior leadership.
  • Present Houston's performance, constraints, priorities, and improvement plans to company leadership.
  • Make confident decisions in changing conditions with limited oversight.
  • Earn credibility with Houston's installers, electricians, technicians, and project leaders during the first 90 days.
  • Develop a working understanding of the products, installation processes, and field standards.
  • Establish baseline measurements for safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization, and cycle time.
  • Identify the constraints having the greatest effect on Houston's capacity and performance.
  • Introduce consistent field communication and performance-management routines.
  • Implement initial process improvements that produce visible results.
  • Identify high-potential employees who can develop into future field leaders.
  • Present a practical plan for improving and scaling Houston field operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of experience in construction, installation, manufacturing, field services, equipment, or project operations.
  • A background in competitive athletics, especially when it demonstrates discipline, resilience, leadership, and a team-first mindset.
  • OSHA 30, Project Management Professional, CM-Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable certification.
  • Exposure to field service, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, or construction environments.
  • Leadership experience within a competitive team environment.
