Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 12 years of proven experience in software engineering is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the engineering team: You will guide and mentor a dedicated group of engineers throughout the entire development process, from research and technical design to security assessment, implementation, and delivery of features for the Firefly web application.
  • Collaborate with product management and clients: You will work closely with product management and clients to define and refine the product roadmap, user experience, priorities, and schedule.
  • Lead the progress of the product: You will take ownership of the product's development life cycle, closely monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring access to senior leadership when needed.
  • Attract, hire, and retain top talent: Building a strong team is critical, and you will play a pivotal role in attracting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining exceptional engineers.
  • Make data-driven decisions: You will rely on a combination of data and your instincts to make informed decisions and drive the team's progress at a rapid pace.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration and shared accomplishments: By cultivating a collaborative and inclusive culture, you will encourage the team to work together, share knowledge, and celebrate achievements.
  • Be a great leader and teammate: Collaboration is key to our success, and you will lead by example, fostering teamwork and supporting enterprise wide collaboration.
  • Facilitate squad effectiveness: You will guide and coach a squad of highly skilled web and backend engineers, providing technical mentorship, unblocking challenges, and celebrating their achievements.
  • Advocate for engineering excellence: You will champion engineering excellence, contributing to the architecture and high-level structure of our applications.
  • Drive culture and process improvements: You will not only lead your team but also contribute to driving culture and process improvements across the broader engineering organization.
