  • High School Diploma/GED preferred

  • Food Handler Certification - Illinois
  • Food Handler Certification - Indiana
Responsibilities
  • Completes all steps related to passing of patient food trays in a timely, courteous manner using clean technique
  • Checks menus and trays for accuracy
  • Documents food allergies, special needs, and likes and dislikes into patient cardex
  • Gathers, labels, and delivers tube-feeding products and nourishments to nursing units as ordered
  • Interacts with patients and obtains meal selections appropriate for their therapeutic diet
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality control initiatives
  • Communicates with nursing staff and clinical dietitians regarding patient nutrition care requirements such as diet education, and poor or insufficient nourishment
  • Understands diet order restrictions and offers appropriate choices to patients
  • Verifies patient information prior to delivering trays
