Requirements
  • 3-5 years experience as a Buyer/Purchaser or a similar role
  • Knowledge of resource planning software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365)
  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma Specialization in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management or related field
Responsibilities
  • Manage set up of new parts, product, and manage non inventory buying
  • Focus on production parts, production planning and releasing of production orders
  • Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
  • Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the business requirements, measure supplier performance and capacity to grow long term
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing
  • Use resource planning software tools (e.g. D365) to manage and maintain costing inventory
  • Create reports on sales, budgets and customer satisfaction and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Help to build out the purchasing application
  • Work with global teams to align with product sourcing and negotiations strategies
