Requirements
  • Must know and adhere to Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive lifting of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate with the management team, drivers, sales staff, and customers.
  • Must be able to use new applications and proprietary software.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Must meet company standards for attendance and punctuality.
  • Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Drive tractor-trailers and perform product deliveries along assigned routes and other related duties to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to the Department of Transportation and applicable traffic regulations.
  • Maintain delivery accuracy and prevent product damage due to mishandling.
  • Immediately communicate problems to the Transportation Supervisor by phone.
  • Inspect tractor-trailers for defects before and after each trip.
  • Drive tractor-trailers to destinations, apply commercial driving regulations, and maneuver vehicles on roads and customer premises.
  • Maintain an electronic driver log according to Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Maintain telephone contact with the supervisor to receive delivery or pickup instructions.
  • Follow transportation policies, food and personal safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure conformance with company standards for professional appearance, conduct, and training requirements.
  • Complete administrative tasks and related paperwork to support efficient transportation operations.
  • Safely drive tractor-trailers in adverse weather conditions, including darkness, rain, wind, snow, and ice.
  • Use a dolly or hand truck to move heavy or shifting loads across wet, dry, icy, bumpy, or uneven terrain with curbs and obstructions.
  • Load and unload products routinely at multiple customer sites each day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
