Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an ACOTE accredited program; licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of New Jersey; a minimum of two years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy is required; an OTD degree from an ACOTE accredited program may be substituted for two years of the required experience; strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to teach courses in the occupational therapy curriculum
Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Occupational Therapy Kean Community Cares Clinic located at Kean University in collaboration with the Chairperson of the Department of Occupational Therapy and the Academic Fieldwork Coordinators for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate and Master of Science programs; supervise student fieldwork educator and act as a treating therapist, course instructor, and operational and marketing manager as part of the Managing Assistant Director role; ensure the continued development of the Clinic and that daily operations follow New Jersey State Occupational Therapy licensure law, state and federal laws, and the American Occupational Therapy Association's Occupational Therapy Practice Framework, Code of Ethics, Philosophy of Education and Guidelines for Supervision; assist students in developing their professional identity and adherence to evidence-based practice; teach in-load courses up to twelve (12) credit hours distributed over a twelve (12) month period from September 1 to August 31, which may include fall, winter, spring and/or summer teaching assignments; this position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours; perform roles as treating therapist, student fieldwork educator supervisor, course instructor, and operational and marketing manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy and two years of fieldwork supervision and/or administrative experience in the field is preferred
