Requirements
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or education equivalency for licensing is required.
  • Three years of experience as a pharmacy technician is required.
  • A Certified Pharmacy Technician credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association is required.
  • For Wisconsin, pharmacy technician registration or completion of the Wisconsin registration application process at the time of hire is required.
  • The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, visual and depth-perception tasks, hearing and oral communication, and keyboard use/data entry; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and handling objects weighing 25-50 pounds; and rare climbing.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily services and functions of the specialized role, resolve issues, and ensure documents and records are accurate and timely.
  • Serve as a resource for ministry team members, solve complex problems, and escalate and close issues as needed.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards and collaborate with department leadership to adopt best practices.
  • Coach team members when practice standards are not upheld.
  • Conduct reviews and audits, report and monitor key performance indicators, identify quality-improvement opportunities, and lead implementation of operational changes and advancements.
  • Participate in ministry work teams, committees, and councils.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to develop and coordinate team-member education, training, orientation, and competency.
  • Train team members in the specialized area.
  • Serve as the ministry liaison to regional pharmacy teams in the specialty area and communicate changes in collaboration with leadership.
  • Provide customer service to patients, staff, and ancillary departments while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
