  • 5+ years of experience managing projects, product management, supply chain / vendor management and executing contracts, preferably in the water & wastewater industry
  • Capable of independently managing customer and partner relationships, especially in difficult circumstances
  • PMP certification (Project Management Professional) under PMI (Project Management Institute) or Certified Professional (CP) qualifications
  • Strong customer focus - responsive with comprehensive and accurate information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, MS Project
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral)
  • Excellent task management & organization skills (creation of Standard Operation Procedures and necessary tools/collateral to establish standard work)
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems to enable/assist with daily work
  • Experience with project reviews, simplified reporting, and widespread stakeholder communication method
Responsibilities
  • Personally or through other company resources, develop detailed Xylem product and application knowledge
  • Capability to manage team members in various geographic locations
  • Identify department training gaps/needs and create/update necessary collateral for the team with ability to track and manage development of team and individual capabilities
  • Ensure team has deep knowledge and training on best in class project scheduling, budget optimization, customer & partner communication, and risk assessment/mitigation
  • Ensure team has detailed knowledge of municipal and industrial project execution structure (direct projects, general contractors, consultants, design-build, etc.)
  • Develop streamlined processes to collect necessary information from local sales company engineering and service to support projects
  • Develop and implement department metrics to measure group efficiency, such as performance to established project schedule, margins/budget, risks as well improved sales forecasting for Xylem management/finance
  • Drive a culture that is highly responsive to both internal and external customers and which provides accurate, comprehensive and timely information
  • Work with sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track project funnel to understand and evenly distribute projects
  • Work with vendors and supply chain / purchasing teams to ensure that lead times are identified and accounted for to ensure products and services that are key to overall project success are ordered in a timely manner
  • Develop forecasts for products required in the project cycle and communicate with those teams / vendors
  • Establish project learning cycle with customers, engineering, sales/applications, and growth centers to communicate lessons learned and improve daily work, quoting accuracy, coordination, lead times, etc
  • Manage direct reports / indirect reports that may be added to ensure necessary training, career development, and on-going performance feedback, including year-end evaluation against goals and development plan
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with intrinsic drive with balanced guidance from sales director and leadership team
