Course Description:
Adjunct english as a second language courses (ESL 2181 A00 and ESL 3181 A00) to a 3-unit discipline-specific course (ADM 1300), taken in English by non-native speakers of English. Examination questions in the discipline-specific course may be answered in either English or French; however, all tests and assignments in the language class must be done in English.
ESL 2181 - Emphasis on development of comprehension skills (listening and reading) while acquiring knowledge and expertise in the discipline.
ESL 3181 - Emphasis on development of proficiency and confidence in written and oral communication skills while acquiring knowledge and expertise in the discipline.
It is required that the ESL Professor attend the following discipline-specific course in addition to the language course:
ADM 1300 D00
Monday 8:30am to 9:50am and Thursday 10:00am to 11:20am - in person
Note: Students may be enroled in sections A00, B00, C00 or D00 of the ADM 1300 course.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in teaching English as a second language, or a discipline relevant to English as a second language teaching. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the university level, or equivalent. Familiarity with software and technologies relevant to teach English as a second language. Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the resume. A professor who has taught an FLS / ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018 is considered to meet the diploma requirement.
