Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school;
  • License to practice law in Massachusetts;
  • 5-7 years of experience at a major law firm;
  • Experience with industry standard agreements such as ISDA, GMRA and MRA helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of secured transactions, corporate finance transactions, securities laws and/or securities offerings are a plus;
  • Strong and sophisticated drafting and negotiating skills;
  • Team player who is strong collaborator with other team members and support partners;
Responsibilities
  • Providing legal support for various aspects of State Street Global Treasury and Secured Financing, including deposit-taking activities, liquidity and funding transactions and support arrangements, securities offerings, share repurchase programs, inter-company transactions, the FICC Sponsored Member Repurchase Program, the Peer to Peer Repurchase Program, Triparty Custodial Agreements and Clearing Agreements.
  • Drafting and negotiating legal contracts and documentation with clients and counterparties;
  • Drafting board/committee votes and documentation for internal governance purposes;
  • Collaborating with U.S. and global legal colleagues to effectively and efficiently onboard new clients;
  • Advising on global applicable laws and regulations;
  • Providing legal analysis in connection with changes to existing product offerings and new product offerings;
  • Providing legal advice in connection with strategic initiatives and special projects;
  • Assisting with regulatory inquiries;
  • Providing legal support to senior global business colleagues;
  • Managing consultation process with external legal counsel;
