The Research Scientist will be a part of the Strategic Partnerships team -- a research and alliances group that works across the company to create value for customers. We deliver data that showcase SurveyMonkey's unique capabilities and great benefits as a technology partner. We've launched technology partner programs to spur digital transformation, helped secure major strategic investments and new revenue, and our work is routinely featured in the media. Our broad remit covers technology, media, data, and innovation partnerships. While we're not in sales, product, engineering, marketing, or finance, we help lead teams and work directly with our C-suite to drive impact on our most important strategic plans. You will report to the Manager, Research Science.
What we're looking for
You will be the point person on much of our market research and media insights. You will work with your counterparts on teams and with external partners in the media (e.g. Axios, CNBC, Fortune) to plan and deliver compelling data stories. You will also contribute to questionnaires, programming surveys, writing and number checking reports, and assisting with quantitative research. You may have a background in data journalism paired with survey methodology, but we welcome applicants with unique, data-driven backgrounds who are eager to contribute.
You have demonstrated strengths in the analysis of survey responses, and the ability to produce compelling insights on a quick turnaround.
This is a full-time position based in San Mateo, CA, or can be remote.
You will
- Produce compelling data visualizations to create insights in the worlds of business and media, on topics ranging from politics to racial equity to business success
- Analyze polling data and survey experiments
- Contribute to data-driven stories
- Manage large-scale data projects
- Build relationships with and external partners to deliver the insights they find most valuable
You have
- MA/MS degree in a related field; or
- Bachelor's Degree + 2 or more years of related experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Microsoft Office
- Tableau, R, SPSS, and Stata
- Can draw meaningful conclusions and summarize data in compelling ways
- Can balance numerous projects simultaneously
- Interest in survey research, polling, and current events
