Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is required, which may come from professional work, project or research-based student experience, or a combination.
  • Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed is required.
  • Ability to travel for business trips up to 10% is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement electromechanical assembly and test processes.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical design team to incorporate design for manufacturability.
  • Lead prototype builds and ensure incremental production-development milestones are met.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems can achieve high-volume rate, cost, and quality targets.
  • Lead facilities development, floor layout, headcount requirements, and material-flow definition.
  • Identify tooling and hardware requirements and design and implement them in production processes.
  • Identify automation opportunities, establish requirements, and evaluate return on investment.
  • Work with internal resources or vendors to develop manufacturing solutions and implement them on the production line.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.
  • Experience in a high-volume commercial or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing and scaling them to high volume as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with design of experiments, gage repeatability and reproducibility, and process qualifications.
  • Experience defining production data requirements and statistical process control.
  • Ability to design tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience implementing automation into production processes.
  • Experience integrating electromechanical or lamination assemblies using manual and automated processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high-performing suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience working with and defining requirements for enterprise resource planning, material requirements planning, and manufacturing execution systems.
