Requirements
  • BS in Naval Architect and at least 10 years of experience, or MS in Engineering or Science field and at least 8 years of experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Experience in DoD-related technology research and/or development platform programs
  • Familiarity with classical systems engineering processes and procedures (please note this excludes IT or information science application)
  • Ability to provide practical and creative solutions in a demanding work environment, while working in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Intimate experience w/MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word software
Responsibilities
  • Identify and translate user requirements into specific technology/system research and development objectives.
  • Define system architectures and supporting subsystem performance requirements; and generating transition agreements.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses of system mission requirements as they pertain to the development of advanced technologies; evaluate alternatives and trade-offs; conduct cost-benefit analyses; and investigate compatibility, interoperability, and integration with existing systems.
  • Support program experimentation and testing efforts, including preparation of experiment/test plans; coordination with performers, government agents, sea ranges and test facilities; implementation and inspection of safety requirements within the time frame requested.
  • Develop and prepare documentation and accompanying briefing materials for senior management and stakeholders within DARPA as well as the services and industry.
  • Assist in the development and transition of technology and systems to the DoD and commercial user community by supporting the activities of on-going and future work and through familiarity with the interaction of the technology/system program and the respective community at large.
  • Perform independent technical assessments and feasibility analyses of new technologies and system designs.
  • Attend, monitor, and report on system field testing and demonstrations.
  • Support technical interchange meetings and design reviews.
  • Identify and implement new program concepts.
  • Provide program management and acquisition support.
  • Author program status briefings and technical reports.
