Requirements
  • Training in a variety of welding processes, including arc welding and oxy-fuel welding, depending on the material used.
  • Ability to set up equipment and weld pipe, plate, or structural steel using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications and produce quality work with reasonable efficiency.
  • Ability to obtain certifications as necessary.
  • Ability to learn and understand work-related safety hazards and safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds, with occasional loads up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of the hands, arms, and legs and demonstrate hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to communicate by hearing, comprehending, and speaking to safely perform the work.
  • Ability to perform sedentary to heavy work.
