Requirements
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of two years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities and coordinating accommodations in an educational setting, preferably in higher education
  • Knowledge and experienced application of federal and state legislation pertaining to individuals with disabilities in higher education/state and local public entities, as well as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and crisis management skills
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and implements classroom accessibility accommodations and services.
  • Analyze medical documentation for the purpose of determining reasonable accommodations.
  • Conduct initial interviews with students with temporary medical conditions and provide advisement regarding various academic topics.
  • Collect and report relevant quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Design and implement comprehensive educational outreach for the office.
  • Assist in the supervision of support staff by providing functional guidance as needed.

  • Experience in decision-making in the area of planning and coordinating the delivery of educational accommodations, preferably in a higher education setting
