What happens next for Gas Code Reform?

What happens next for Gas Code Reform? 14 July 2026 Following Ofgem's decision to progress the joint Expression of Interest from Encodar, Xoserve and Talan to the Licensing Assessment phase of the Gas Network Code Manager appointment process, the partnership is entering the next stage of developing its proposal for the future Code Manager role. Gas Code Reform is one of the most significant changes to gas market governance in recent years. Led by Ofgem, the programme is designed to simplify and modernise industry codes, strengthen governance arrangements and support a more efficient, transparent and adaptable gas market as the energy system continues to evolve. The Licensing Assessment is an important milestone in that journey, providing an opportunity for the partnership to demonstrate its combined capabilities, expertise and strategic approach, while continuing to engage openly with customers, stakeholders and the wider gas industry. The Licensing Assessment is not just about demonstrating capability - it's about demonstrating how Xoserve Limited will work with industry. Stakeholder engagement is central to its approach, and Xoserve Limited want to provide opportunities for customers and stakeholders to understand its proposal, ask questions and help shape the conversation as the process progresses. As part of this commitment, Encodar, Xoserve and Talan are hosting a Gas Network Code Collaboration webinar to provide an update on the Licensing Assessment and explain what stakeholders can expect over the coming months. What will the webinar cover? The session will provide an overview of: * the Gas Network Code Manager appointment process and key milestones. * progress made by the partnership during the Licensing Assessment. * how Encodar, Xoserve and Talan are combining their expertise to deliver the future Gas Network Code Manager role. * its approach to stakeholder engagement throughout the Licensing Assessment. * how business-as-usual continuity would be maintained during any future transition. * a live Q&A with representatives from the partnership. Whether you are directly involved in Code Reform, participate in industry governance or simply want to better understand what the next phase means for the future of the gas market, this webinar provides an opportunity to hear directly from the partnership and ask your questions.
