The Job:

As a Quality Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team located in Hampstead, MD. Key responsibilities include:

• Demonstrate growth in understanding Powdered Metal technology.
• Work with key powder and tooling suppliers in the development of complex multi-level tooling.
• Lead advanced Powder Metal manufacturing process technology development in driving productivity and competitive advantage, utilizing the Protrak dashboard and conducting monthly report outs.
• Develop, implement, and enforce robust powder metal and machining manufacturing in-process control with advanced gauging, metrology, and SPC.
• Oversee product quality, including the creation, revision and management of Specific Quality Plans.
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing floor, assist in training, lead process quality trouble shooting and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain log of non-conforming material dispositions and conduct Material Review Boards for review of deviant parts.
• Interact with customer plant quality representatives to resolve quality issues and provide corrective actions.
• Conduct design reviews with customers and translate customer requirements into manufacturing processes.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies to lead projects, realize and document measurable benefits.

The Person:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (required).
• 3+ years of technical work experience.
• Mechanical experience preferred with Quality Control knowledge/experience (Gaging, Metrology, and Statistics).
• Strong understanding and practical application of Lean 6-sigma practices (GRR, CP/CPk, SPC, DOE).
• Working knowledge of 3-D Modeling software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, etc.).

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $59,500 - $107,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
