Requirements
  • An active Certified Public Accountant license or Enrolled Agent certification is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in tax preparation, including at least 2 years in a dedicated review capacity.
  • Ability to review tax returns across individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and nonprofits.
  • Expert proficiency with CCH Axcess and QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial statements, including Schedule L reconciliation.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for direct client interaction on technical matters.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and nonprofits before manager-level sign-off.
  • Distinguish high-impact issues from negligible discrepancies while keeping the review process thorough and efficient.
  • Verify that QuickBooks Online data ties to Schedule L for clients who maintain internal books.
  • Respond to client questions about return details and technical tax matters.
  • Identify recurring error patterns and provide direct feedback and training to tax staff to improve first-pass accuracy.
  • Stay current on federal and state tax law changes.
