Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is preferred.
  • One year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and basic front-end revenue cycle and registration requirements.
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer application skills sufficient to use medical databases competently.
  • Ability to operate medical equipment including a blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, and electrocardiogram machine.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and staff by phone, electronic communication, or in person, and manage clinic voicemail, text, and fax communications.
  • Register and preregister patients, ensuring accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility information in the electronic health record.
  • Perform patient check-in and support self-check-in processes, including confirming arrival, verifying key information, collecting copayments, completing required forms, and notifying the clinical team.
  • Monitor appointment confirmations and follow up with patients regarding unconfirmed appointments.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments across multiple service lines according to established protocols.
  • Manage assigned scheduling and patient-communication worklists and conduct outreach supporting care-team and clinic priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Receive, process, and route travel documents and medical records according to policy.
  • Collaborate with peers and care teams to support efficient clinic flow and patient experience.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold service standards.
  • Participate in departmental improvement initiatives and maintain required competencies.
  • Support enrollment in the MySEARHC patient portal.
  • Work flexible schedules as required by clinic operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
