Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience
  • Ensure every team member is trained and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations
  • Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments
  • Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on the right behaviors and execution, celebrate wins, drive results that deliver outcomes and elevate the guest experience
  • With direct leader guidance, lead the execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and price changes for General Merchandise areas
  • With guidance from direct leader, educate team on operational procedures such as setting up and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas, and how they affect inventory, store profitability, and product availability
  • Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and assist to develop a plan to resolve for direct leader review
  • Be an expert of operations, accuracy, process and efficiency
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with priorities
  • With direct leader’s guidance, establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable
  • With direct leader’s guidance, assist with efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work (if applicable) and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop plan
  • Help enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is in stock, accurately priced and signed on sales floor, prioritizing guest experience; collaborate with all teams to identify key priorities and ensure store is guest-ready
  • Stay informed about trends and products to educate team members by relaying Target communications
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team, as directed
  • Model a culture of executing best practices with onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development and coaching
  • Identify team members for future leadership positions and build a talent pool
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, digital fulfillment while maintaining compliance culture including adult beverage laws
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead and demonstrate safety culture; manage security processes
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store
  • If applicable, as a key carrier, follow safe and secure training
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty to enable guest experience during shifts
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs
  • All other duties based on business needs
