Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Accounting, or Finance, or an equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting or risk management, or comparable experience in commercial property and casualty lines.
- Ability to analyze insuring agreements to determine coverage applicability.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in personal computer operations, including word processing, web applications, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mathematical aptitude.
- Effective multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Property and Casualty licensing within 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to credit unions by servicing commercial property and casualty coverage requests, answering billing questions, resolving problems, and issuing coverage within prescribed authority.
- Provide ongoing professional communication with field staff, insureds, auditors, attorneys, and other company departments via telephone, letters, faxes, and the internet.
- Act as an insurance consultant to internal and external customers.
- Provide web support expertise to customers on company webinars, added-value services, and required renewal questionnaires.
- Train credit union staff to use the Credit Union Protection website for transmitting coverage-change requests and completing policy renewal surveys.
- Document verbal and written communication between internal and external customers using an online customer-contact tracking system and effectively capture the underwriting decision-making process.
