About the team:

The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood’s offices in New York, NY with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.

The Robinhood Asset Management team is responsible for delivering investment and financial advice to its customers. We’re looking for a business leader and owner of the operational aspects for our advisory entity. As the Operations Lead, you’ll initially be responsible for identifying and solving problems, researching unique issues, and collaborating to achieve the goals of a successful launch and help set the path for a customer-friendly, uniquely compelling, compliant advisory product.

Beyond launch, you’ll be responsible for ensuring an excellent end-customer experience and mitigate entity risk, while supporting cutting-edge financial and investment advisory products. You’ll work with our cross functional partners in operations, trading, product, engineering compliance and legal teams, providing SME level knowledge and successfully collaborating on shared topics. This includes establishing solid operational processes, ensuring we’re in compliance with policy and reporting standards, managing relationships with our brokerage partners, and troubleshooting operational and trading issues that arise. This role will be critical to identifying, consulting, building and improving the operational infrastructure for our new advisory business.

You’ll also provide leadership and support to the team and set an example of our culture through your actions. You hold the team and/or teammates accountable, and provide both an example and direction in achieving a high level of excellence for all responsibilities.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• In collaboration with brokerage partners, own the development and subsequent management of the advisory’s operational infrastructure
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of the operations functions for the team, partnering with Compliance.
• Participate in regular meetings with cross-functional partners.
• Command deep knowledge of operational processes and standards.
• Provide coaching for our team and partners on relevant subject matter, problem solving, and individual development.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, customer advocacy, personal development, and regulatory compliance.
• Prioritize risk to protect our customers and the firm.
• Be a strong advocate for providing our customers the best possible experience.
• Identify inefficiencies or gaps in operational processes and procedures, then design and implement solutions
• Work collaboratively with Product, Operations, Engineering, Compliance and other areas as needed.
• Help drive OKRs
• Document standard operating procedures and processes
• Track changes to regulations and best practices regarding investment operations.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
• FINRA Series 7, 63
• Advanced working experience 7-10+ years of experience with:
  • Investment and advisory trading systems and operating standards
  • Building and improving brokerage and clearing operations processes
• Knowledge of and passion for trading mechanics
• Knowledge of SEC rules and regulations.
• Strong collaboration and problem- solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Assertive self-starter with ability to work independently
• Resourceful and adaptive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments

• The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
