Requirements
  • Degree in accounting or finance
  • 4-7 years of experience in an accounting firm or department
  • At least 1 year of management experience
  • Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment
  • Proven expertise with Excel (combining large data sets, sumifs, index/match, vlookups, etc); familiarity with SQL a plus
  • Experience working with Netsuite a plus
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detail
  • Proactively looking to improve on processes; never satisfied with the status quo
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with industries such as financial technology, mortgage banking, or lending a plus
Responsibilities
  • Participate in month end closing by taking ownership of certain revenue sections of the P&L, including flux analyses and budget to actual analyses
  • Create and review journal entries in the GL along with preparing excellent supporting schedules during the month capturing daily activities for month end close
  • Investigate and resolve issues with our revenue transactions
  • Collaborate with US and India team members to provide useful and necessary financial information to management
  • Review aspects as of Better's intercompany accounting
  • Listen to, learn form, and partner with members of various departments to accurately present our financial story
  • Educate coworkers regarding financial practices, implications, and policies
  • Provide ad hoc analysis support to business leaders and key partners for complex accounting questions
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to more junior team members
