About the Role
The NewGlobe marketing group, which encompasses communications, creative, and partnership development enablement, is tasked with communicating the NewGlobe mission, value proposition, and impact through stories and reports that engage and educate all stakeholders about the vital work we are all doing together.
The role of Communications Director, Alliances in that broader mission is to build messaging arcs, personal relationships, and communications programs that engage influencers, reporters, and officials at non-governmental organizations, that align to our goals of scalably improving education outcomes for public schools globally.
In this leadership role, you will work closely within NewGlobe’s marketing team, policy and partnerships teams, and senior leadership, and be supported by field, creative, and digital teams and resources.
What You Will Do
- Build and own the plan to generate meaningful conversations and mutually beneficial content and/or campaigns with education and government focused non governmental organizations
- Identify and engage key reporters and global media outlets—both virtually and in person— relevant to NewGlobe’s mission and solution to generate coverage
- Work closely with NewGlobe’s policy and partnership team to help engage key funders and stakeholders for new and existing government partnerships
- Identify gaps in our ability to share meaningful stories and results with advocates and influencers, and work with marketing, academics, and policy teams to fill them
- Dampen the impact of net detractors through proactive outreach, and build a plan to identify which may be open to change in sentiment
What You Should Have
- Experience working at, or building and maintaining relationships with communications and policy professionals within governments and non governmental, and development organizations
- Knowledge of how to, and a proven record of, generating broadsheet media coverage
- Experience working in a matrixed global organization
- A strong desire to network, and connect that network to NewGlobe’s broader mission and strategies
- Knowledge of the primary education space—who are the players, where is the funding, what are the most pressing issues, and to whom are they important
- Direct experience at or with organizations or funds like USAID, World Bank, Education Cannot Wait is a big plus
