Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical discipline
  • 5+ years working with certification standards (UL and Telcordia) and product compliance
  • 2+ years working with batteries, fuel cells, or other energy generation/storage products, power electronics, or electronic systems
  • Knowledge of electronics design, safety, risk and failure analysis
  • Experience in submissions for official certification through relevant compliance bodies
  • Experience working with test labs
  • Experience in documenting regulatory requirements extracted from industry
  • Direct prior experience with battery certifications such as UL 1973 and 9540A, NFPA 855, and UN/DOT standards
  • Experience in participating in 5D and FMEA exercises
  • Experience with XFMEA, Weibull++, and other Compliance and Reliability tools
  • Experience working with manufacturing partners
  • Base Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data

  • The salary range for this position is a minimum of $117,950 and a maximum of $187,750
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to guide development of compliant designs, and educate them about regulatory requirements for new and existing products
  • Work with engineering team to ensure compliance through parameter and block diagrams, dFMEAs, and testing activities
  • Establish and maintain guidelines and best design practices to mitigate compliance issues early in the design process
  • Participate in mechanical, electrical, and firmware design reviews to ensure best compliance practices are properly implemented in the design
  • Work with internal test engineers and 3rd party labs to test and validate Natron Energy products and support testing to ensure compliance
  • Assist in debugging efforts and failure analysis to determine root cause of non-compliance and guide the design team to implement corrective design actions
  • Act as the company's point of contact to regulatory bodies
  • Determine regulatory artwork for labels as required by certification bodies and customers
  • Coordinate compliance inspections of production lines
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global agency approvals and testing procedures
