Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology or degree and experience required to meet Technical Supervisor role for general Laboratory testing (Hematology, Chemistry and Microbiology) as designated by CLIA
  • MLS/MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or equivalent
  • Four years of recent laboratory experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Computer expertise sufficient to support departmental requirements, including Laboratory Information System oversight, data integrity, and interface management
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities
  • Maturity and ability to work under stress
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily laboratory operations in collaboration with supervisor and leads
  • Guide staff and advance departmental goals
  • Lead and develop the laboratory team, focusing on team development and operational excellence
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer during crossover period
  • Oversee quality, diagnostics, and timely results; ensure state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology is maintained
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and other departments to support continuity and collaboration across care settings
Desired Qualifications
  • Education Desired: Training in Administrative Field of management
  • Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Health Care Administration
  • Eight+ years of experience in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
  • Prior experience supervising multiple laboratory sections or teams
  • Principles of Cost Accounting
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and middleware
