Requirements
  • MD/PhD equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology (preferred), public health, health services research, psychology, health behavior, health economics, or a health-related social sciences field.
Responsibilities
  • Build and develop the Cancer Center’s nationally recognized research in Population Sciences.
  • Collaborate closely with other Cancer Center senior leaders, the AD of Community Outreach and Engagement, the co-leaders of the Cancer Control Research Program, epidemiologists, geospatial analysts, biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, geneticists, biologists, behavioral scientists, and clinicians across MUSC.
  • Guide the Cancer Control Program and develop a multidisciplinary team of researchers from within the MUSC science community and through external recruitments.
  • Develop a comprehensive vision for population-based cancer research that builds on the Cancer Center’s existing strengths.
  • Nurture existing relationships across MUSC and with external communities/partners to strategically facilitate cross-disciplinary research.
