Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Experience in robotics and automation preferred.
  • Strong background in engineering principles and equipment design.
  • Understanding of facilities and manufacturing equipment for fast-face production environment.
  • Experience with programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and electrical debug.
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical and controls problems with automated production equipment.
  • Experience completing the full project life cycle from start to finish.
  • Solid understanding and background in PLC and data acquisition systems, distributed control systems, mechanical operation of equipment, and process control.
  • Prior experience supporting plant automation systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, application and ability is necessary.
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D drawing and blueprint application and ability is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment covering hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, PLC control, HMI, mechanical, boiler, high-speed equipment apps, and robotics automation preferred.
  • Experience in carrying out automation improvement projects preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering manufacturing equipment projects from design / development to commissioning.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and experts to design and develop new equipment.
  • Ensure that the equipment meets required specifications and standards.
  • Establishes equipment user requirements specifications (URS) as part of the RFP (Request for Proposal) as part of the equipment procurement / build process.
  • Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing problem solving solutions to improve maintenance methods & practices thus improving production equipment performance.
  • Responsible for the creating and updating equipment life cycle documentation. This to include URS, FRS, SRS, Test Protocols, Qualification Docs, PMs, FMEA, Lack Out /Tag Out and other related equipment documents.
  • Responsible for providing training to operators and support personnel (engineering, maintenance, quality) on new equipment functionality.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment and management of related installation companies.
  • Provide support to technicians to Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
  • Collaborates with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality to improve equipment safety, quality, and throughput in the plant.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
  • Assure equipment related documentation is regularly developed and maintained.
  • Interface with multiple equipment integrators / suppliers to understand their equipment operation and capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement automation projects.
  • Interface regularly and provide formal and informal project status updates to the management team and stakeholders.
