Responsibilities
  • Serving as the main People & Culture point of contact for corporate leaders and employees in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.
  • Partnering with European, Middle Eastern and African leaders to align people strategy with organizational and business goals.
  • Advise and coach leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Identifying business and capability gaps and partnering with leaders on solutions.

North-Shore tested: the new Arc'teryx MTB capsule. Introducing Rhoam: a female-designed, three-piece capsule of mountain biking apparel from Arc'teryx. If Canadian mountain biking has a birthplace, it is probably Vancouver's North Shore. Since riders began venturing around the flanks of Mount Seymour on modified cruiser bikes in the 1980s, trail development has evolved to offer something for every preference, from flowy paths to black-diamond ladder bridges. It's fitting then that Arc'teryx, headquartered on the North Shore - and steeped in Coast Mountains outdoor culture - should launch its long-awaited mountain bike apparel after extensive testing in its own backyard. "Rhoam began as an internal passion project within the design and development team, a group of all-female mountain bikers that wanted to create a MTB kit that would keep them comfortable in the harsh Pacific Northwest conditions they often ride in," said Arc'teryx in a statement released to ML. "Rhoam began as an internal passion project..." "This project started from conversations during climbs on North Shore trails. The team felt there was an opportunity to create a better-fitting women's mountain bike product that doesn't compromise on performance or aesthetics. With ongoing North Shore testing and refinement just outside the Arc'teryx HQ, it grew into a fully realized capsule." The Rhoam kit includes a men's and women's jacket, pant and short, combining precise articulation with hybrid material mapping, integrated layering systems and equipment compatibility. "Historically, women's MTB pants are extremely low rise in the front and a big pain point for female riders - we really obsessed over the rise of the women's pant to get it right," the Arc'teryx statement continued. "The pant offers a higher rise and adjustable waistband, with elasticated back section so no "gaping" in seated/leaned forward position, keeping trail debris out." "Many of us ride, our athletes ride. Mountain biking is part of our culture," added Ashley Anson, VP Design at Arc'teryx. "Our team spent countless hours riding in some of the toughest conditions on the North Shore; this capsule is the result of mountain athletes designing for how they ride, move and experience the outdoors." Finally, we may be taken seriously as a reputable outdoor brand instead of as a streetwear icon." Some speculate that the labour practices of Decathlon are only marginally better than of Arc'Teryx. One escaped worker from the Bangladesh factory described their working conditions and salary to be equivalent to the H&M facility they had previously fled. As customers are leaving the outdoor technical apparel brand en-mass in search for other brands, the Arc'Teryx Alternatives movement continues to thrive.
