Requirements
- An MD degree and an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved United States internal medicine internship and residency are required.
- Completion of a three-year Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved United States gastroenterology fellowship is required.
- Completion of a one-year non-Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education advanced endoscopy fellowship is required.
- Board certification or board eligibility in gastroenterology is required.
- A valid unrestricted Florida medical license, or eligibility to apply, is required.
- A valid Drug Enforcement Administration license is required.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic life support certification is required.
- The physician must maintain continuing medical education to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an outpatient clinical practice at UHealth locations, UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
- Perform core and non-core endoscopic services for patients.
- Maintain an outpatient clinic schedule.
- Rotate on night and weekend call proportionate to other faculty.
- Rotate proportionately to other faculty on inpatient and Jackson Memorial Hospital teaching services.
- Provide advanced endoscopic call proportionate to other advanced endoscopic physicians.
- Provide direct inpatient and outpatient care to gastroenterology patients at UHealth locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
- Provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services, as well as rounding and teaching on inpatients at UHealth Towers and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
