Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process or Mechanical Engineering. Based on experience, other Engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience working as an Engineer in a process plant environment would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of process safety.
  • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
Responsibilities
  • Support process safety management elements such as MOC, PSSR, PHA, building siting, process design.
  • Provide support on the communication of process safety risks.
  • Day to day support of Process Safety Barrier Health reporting.
  • Attend Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and assist in managing associated action items.
  • Assist in the management of process safety event (PSE) investigations.
  • Support assessments in the following processes: Car sealing, Procedures – initial start-up and SOP and red line revisions, Process Safety Events, Permit to Work, SIMOPs, Inhibits / Bypasses, Safety Critical Element management, Pre-startup Safety Reviews, Monitoring process safety metrics and analyzing data to identify trends and outliers.
