Meet Your Future Neighbors
At Nextdoor, we offer a warm and inclusive work environment that embraces a hybrid employment experience, providing a flexible experience for our valued employees.
The Impact You’ll Make
As the Strategic Partnerships Lead, you’ll work with the Head of Commercial Partnerships, the Head of Revenue, and cross-functionally to help define a holistic partnership-based monetization strategy for Nextdoor and our customers. This individual should be proactive, strategic, and capable of ideating, sourcing, negotiating, and executing a deal end to end. You will primarily drive revenue and enable new commercial use cases through API platforms, strategic integrations & commercial product experiences, and marketing partnerships globally. You will have the opportunity to help accelerate our roadmap by introducing partnerships both small and large that will help us grow faster in some cases, and come to market with game changing product experiences in other cases.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Helping inform, ideate and execute Nextdoor’s commercial partnership strategy - supporting our Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB Business Solutions groups
- Building a best in-class network of API partners to drive revenue growth and deliver customer value for Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB customer cohorts
- Working cross-functionally to roll out processes and scale our partnership ecosystem
- Identifying, negotiating, and closing new partnership opportunities, both defined/repeatable and undefined/bespoke
- Partnering with multiple cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, product, sales, and marketing to ensure commercial partnerships are successful end-to-end
- Balancing revenue opportunities with the neighbor experience - aspiring to forge partnerships that drive revenue as well as increase value for our neighbors or local businesses
- Staying connected to the industry through events, conferences, and prospective partner meetings, and proactively identifying partnership opportunities
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values
What You’ll Bring to The Team
- 10+ years demonstrating experience as a partnerships and business development professional for large-scale consumer products in an agile environment, preferably including work on social networks, social media or marketplace products
- Deep empathy for partner needs and insights, as well as an intuitive grasp of the business problems we’re trying to solve
- You act like an owner, you experiment & learn quickly, and you think big
- You are a good communicator, relationship builder, and you like negotiating, but are also quantitative and feel comfortable ideating around complex technical integrations
- Experience delivering value across the advertising ecosystem. Bonus for subject matter expertise with SMB customer sets.
- Equally empathetic about the neighbor experience on Nextdoor - keeping this as the north star when executing against revenue priorities
- Expertise in API networks that drive monetization, particularly in an advertising ecosystem
- Experience negotiating large consequential deals with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to navigate the partnership process both externally and internally - ability to work cross functionally to promote partnership ideas, and get things done
- Deeply curious about how to empower neighbors to strengthen their communities, how local businesses enhance their communities, and about what makes different neighborhoods around the globe thrive.
