Unisys Clearpath and Network Systems Analyst

What success looks like in this role:

The Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the end user’s government operations team on the various types of hardware, software and operations tools used by operations. This includes troubleshooting Hardware Technology, applications and software for all internal customers as well as developing and providing training programs. This client facing role and system support is located in the Ottawa, Canada area. Due to return-to-work guidelines the work is currently being performed remotely however onsite support at the client’s site will be required in the future. This position offers a very good work life balance with a 37.5 hour work week plus very occasional off hours support for activities and upgrades.

Job Description

Unisys Canada’s federal government client has a requirement for an experienced Analyst. The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:

•            Diagnose, assess, and identify remedies and workarounds for a variety of service incidents.

•            Identify, evaluate, and prioritize customer problems in ServiceNow to ensure that inquiries are successfully resolved.

•            Provide technical expertise and functional support for software and hardware systems.

•            Analyze and evaluate the impact of application changes and enhancements.

•            Provide detailed technical advice and guidance to users, clients, and staff.

•            Ability to produce technical and descriptive documentation.

•            Support production, test, and development environments including system maintenance, software upgrades and patching.

•            Effectively communicate with the various government stakeholders to keep them updated on the status of assigned activities.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Minimum Qualifications

•            Bachelor’s Degree/Technical Diploma (or equivalent experience in a technical support role)

•            Minimum 5+ year relevant experience supporting Enterprise class environments, including tools, hardware, operating systems and applications

•            Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident must have ability to pass security and background checks to get Secret security level clearance

•            Demonstrated problem solving, ability to think strategically, assess situations, set priorities and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

•            Active valid SECRET security clearance

•            Work experience with public sector customers

What would make you stand out

•            Dell Enterprise Server and storage knowledge

•            Multiple OS knowledge and implementation experience

•        Knowledge of networking and routing technologies

•            Knowledge of UNISYS MCP systems

•            Knowledge of AB-Suite / Visual Studio

•            Practical hands-on SQL and/or DMSII experience

•            Knowledge of legacy programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I and Assemble would be an asset

Skills and Experience

•            Relevant experience supporting business critical enterprise application suites

•            Experience with; Windows Server, enterprise class OS system utilities;

data communications; networking

•            Strong technical problem solving and analytical skills to diagnose debug and repair programming issues

•            Working knowledge of database technologies, and related software applications.

•            Knowledge of middleware

•            Superior written and verbal communication to stakeholders

•            Able to work independently as well as with a team on common goals

•            Natural curiosity to learn, to troubleshoot issues and to understand the root cause of problems.
