Develop game systems for Palia, our upcoming community sim game from Singularity 6, a new AAA game studio founded by veterans across the industry.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
As a game engineer on the Cosmetics team, you will collaborate with teams across the studio to help design and build systems, features, and technology to bring new character outfits and other customizations to life. You’ll join one of our several cross-functional teams, with other engineers, designers, and artists developing Palia. You’ll program C++ game systems in Unreal Engine. The work on the Cosmetics team is all about player identity. Under this umbrella, you will be part of a team that will bring vibrant life to players in Palia through self-expression in cosmetics and customization of their characters. This team will support artists and designers through extending or even creating brand new customizations. We will also help support the content creation cycle by providing tooling to help streamline our processes as a live service game. You will also be involved in integrating customization in an MMO setting with persistence and networking.
What We’re Looking For:
- You have 3 or more years of experience developing and shipping games using a modern game engine. We have a strong preference for engineers with prior experience in Unreal Engine technologies.
- You have 3 or more years of C++ programming experience. You are comfortable developing and debugging in multithreaded code and multiplayer networked systems.
- You have a passion for great gameplay. You’re a pragmatic engineer that puts player experiences over your own ego and code.
- You want to learn something new. We’re largely a team of generalists. Your work may take you into systems you’ve not touched before, such as UE4 engine code, netcode, graphics, AI, UI, build systems, and beyond.
Nice to Have:
- BA / BS or equivalent
- Experience in modeling, animation, or technical art
- Experience with making content for shop and ecommerce
- Motivated by creating great games
Salary Information:
The Los Angeles base salary range for this full-time position is$155,000 - $200,000 annually for a senior-level Game Engineer. Base salary will be determined by role, level, and location. The range listed for each job is the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the positions across S6-approved states. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors. Please discuss your specific salary expectations for your preferred location during our interview process.
Compensation details reflect only the base salary, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits such as 401k matching.
