Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, policies and procedures, as well as related accounting and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
  • May require analytical skills sufficient to develop and implement financial data management and reporting systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels.
  • May require skills in project management, leadership, and process redesign.
  • Advanced leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a varied, high-volume environment, using sound judgment and decision-making, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Five to ten years of professional experience in an administrative, operational, regulatory compliance, or financial transactions or services role.
  • Must pass a background check and Live Scan.
  • Must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Merage School's Financial Services efforts in purchasing, reimbursements, disbursements, contracts, income and cash handling, and credit card processing.
  • Provide related training, regulatory compliance, process development and improvement, systems, and workflows.
  • Supervise a team of financial assistants and student workers.
  • Serve as a work lead or project manager.
  • Use advanced financial services concepts and organizational objectives to resolve highly complex issues.
  • Analyze complex situations or data requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert at the School.
Desired Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience, preferably at a higher education institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of organization and systemwide financial processes and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
