Requirements
  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.
  • Demonstrate competency in TIG welding of aluminium and stainless steel.
  • Operate workshop equipment used for manufacturing, machining, fabrication, assembly, and prototyping activities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance to the Workshops Manager on equipment, maintenance, training, and operational matters.
  • Plan and deliver fabrication, repair, and engineering projects from procurement through to completion.
  • Oversee daily workshop operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Work with clients to define project requirements, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Support the scheduling, prioritisation, and allocation of workshop resources.
  • Lead and mentor the Mechanical Workshop team, maintaining quality standards and resolving technical issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop performance and efficiency.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and well-organised workshop environment.

  • Experience working with metals, plastics, timber, and composites.
  • Experience across broader technical functions, particularly operating CNC manufacturing equipment and associated technologies.
