Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of group insurance experience servicing clients or managing clients is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in group insurance, absence management, disability, leave, and life insurance, along with experience in client management, sales, or underwriting, is required.
  • Group Life and Health licenses are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to manage one’s own work, prioritize responsibilities, meet tight deadlines, work autonomously with limited supervision, and escalate urgent needs appropriately is required.
  • The role requires presentation, written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, negotiation, customer service, and adaptability skills.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts and agreements is required.
  • The role requires the ability to champion company and department goals and drive client adherence to initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Own all aspects of the customer experience and overall client relationship for assigned national clients.
  • Lead a team of professionals to deliver service capabilities, exceed client expectations, and solve custom client needs.
  • Review financial metrics, retention, and growth for the assigned client block.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding Disability, Life, FML, state leaves, company leaves, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Drive client renewal strategy with input from sales and practice leaders.
  • Provide comprehensive service and directly support profitable growth of the consulting base.
  • Lead finalist meetings and navigate complex solution discussions.
  • Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across additional lines of business.
  • Manage merger and divestiture activities with clients to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manage and negotiate complex performance guarantees.
  • Drive client conversations about downstream effects of plan changes.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned service, client persistency, implementation, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Develop efficient strategies and workflows for growing the existing book of business.
  • Develop and manage annual client strategies for persistency and profitable growth.
  • Interpret and deliver client data in relation to benchmark data.
  • Recommend customized strategies for clients’ future needs based on client data and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Office, Implementation Manager, and internal support resources on strategies and workflows for new and existing business.
  • Manage high-level relationships with client and broker decision-makers.
  • Work with functional departments to implement new business and prepare for renewals.
  • Analyze raw data to identify trends and create solutions.
  • Develop ad hoc and customized reporting for brokers and clients.
  • Support clients through HRIS, payroll, and vendor system changes.
