Responsibilities
  • Assure that quality resident care is provided on a 24-hour basis through training, scheduling, directing, and supervising sufficient staff.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department across all three levels of care.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures for licensed areas.
  • Work with physicians, pharmacists, other health care professionals, and suppliers to ensure exceptional care and service.
  • Work with residents, families, and responsible parties to address concerns and meet care needs across the campus.
  • Assist and lead partners in using appropriate techniques for resident assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure goals are met and residents' medical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs are addressed.
  • Ensure the area, equipment, supplies, and their use remain neat, clean, safe, and appropriate.
  • Ensure community and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable local and state regulations are followed.
  • Manage the nursing department budget.
  • Lead quality assurance and improvement efforts.
  • Coach and teach partners and work with them to create the Otterbein Experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in a nursing leadership role.
