  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing written content.
  • Minimum of 1 year of writing experience related to migrant and refugee issues/policy.
  • Minimum of 6 months of 508 compliance and Plain Writing requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Writing and/or editing technical documents including reports, briefings, presentation materials, and other deliverables as assigned.
  • Conducting research as needed, consulting relevant information sources, and collecting relevant data needed to develop content.
  • Stay up to date on relevant legislation, regulations, and agency policy to ensure writing assignments are aligned to federal requirement.
  • Developing deliverable schedules, concept summaries, and outlines for review with federal staff as part of the product development cycle.
  • Writing and/or editing draft responses to requests for information, technical assistance, and guidance from a variety of sources including the public, grant recipients, and non-governmental organization, and government entities.
  • Demonstrate the capability to ensure deliverables are 508 compliant, if required, and the standards in the Plain Writing Act of 2010.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with team members.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, public administration, English, or related field.
  • Experience developing and delivering content related to refugee or migration issues.
  • Experience developing learning experiences on federal contracts.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and other theories of learning.
