Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or a related field, with six years of experience in human resources, administrative management, or a related field, including three years of management experience for a comparably sized organization; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff; develop and oversee employee work schedules; review timesheets; address employee concerns and problems; counsel or discipline employees as appropriate; assist with or complete employee performance appraisals; direct work; liaise between employees and management; and train staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organize, prioritize, and assign work; schedule work activities; ensure subordinates have the resources needed to complete assignments; monitor work in progress; inspect completed work; assist staff with complex or problematic situations; provide technical expertise; report progress and activities to management; and assist with revising procedure manuals.
  • Plan and direct the department's administrative operations; assist in developing and implementing long- and short-term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; conduct management analysis; recommend organizational changes; and implement processes to resolve problems or improve operations.
  • Manage department policies and procedures; advise supervisors on policy, disciplinary, and personnel issues; prepare and recommend policies and procedures; review and approve personnel transactions and disciplinary actions; respond to grievances; and resolve operational issues.
  • Manage administrative financial activities, including payroll approval, purchase requisitions, purchases, travel requests, financial reports, department budget development, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Provide customer service in person, by telephone, and by email; provide information and assistance regarding department policies and procedures; respond to questions, complaints, and service requests; and initiate problem resolution.
  • Serve as the department liaison for workers' compensation and reporting; assist injured employees with service and payment processing; notify employees of plan changes; and process related documentation.
  • Manage staff training and development; monitor completion of mandatory training; assist with training planning; and conduct one-on-one professional development reviews.
  • Research, compile, and monitor administrative, statistical, and operational data; summarize data; perform routine data analysis; prepare reports; and research department files, databases, electronic sources, internet sites, and hardcopy materials.
  • Prepare or complete forms, reports, correspondence, monthly reports, purchase requisitions, performance appraisals, status reports, disciplinary actions and reviews, and other documents.
  • Receive and review forms, reports, correspondence, job applications, security logs, attendance records, human resources documentation, purchase orders, policies, procedures, manuals, and reference materials; complete, process, forward, or retain them as appropriate.
  • Communicate with supervisors, County departments, employees, the public, outside agencies, and others to coordinate work, review status, exchange information, and resolve problems.
