Requirements
  • A bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Five to eight years of hands-on experience in distributed application support is required.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and databases including Oracle, DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server is required.
  • Working knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows environments and their commands is required.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and debugging tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, or Moogsoft is required.
  • Knowledge of Unix, shell scripting, and application servers including IIS, Tomcat, or WebSphere is required.
  • Knowledge of Spring, IBM MQ, Kafka, and scheduling tools such as Control-M is required.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, containers, App Engine, and command-line interfaces is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Java or .NET sufficient to understand code and exceptions in logs is required.
  • Experience in incident management, change management, and problem management is required.
  • Knowledge of large language model prompt engineering and evaluation, retrieval-augmented-generation grounding on enterprise knowledge, tool or function calling, and agentic workflows is required.
  • Strong analytical and verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Support applications in production, including infrastructure patching and upgrades, application releases and deployments, disaster recovery drills, and data center rotations.
  • Proactively monitor application health, alerts, incidents, and system or software changes affecting applications and business users, and take appropriate action.
  • Provide support for escalated incident tickets and act as liaison to business and technical leads to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with various teams, raise support tickets, analyze root causes, and assist in resolving production issues.
  • Produce ad hoc reports for business users from databases and provide periodic transaction-volume statistics updates to senior management.
  • Support infrastructure and interfacing-application changes.
  • Provide rotational on-call support.
  • Work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
  • Good-to-have knowledge of GitLab, Confluence, Jira, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and BPM tools such as Pega.
  • Experience in automation and the banking payments domain is an advantage.
